Next Claude model: Mar 2027Not announced: our prediction, from the pace of Claude releases.
Best guessWe think at least one new Claude model (Opus 5.6, Sonnet 5.6, Fable 5.5 or similar) comes out by Mar 31, 2027: Opus alone had five releases between Aug 2025 and May 2026, two to four months apart, and the newest model, Haiku 5.5, came out on Oct 7, 2026. Vi.ki's Claude predictions

Personal Finance in Claude

Personal Finance in Claude is a beta, launched on Nov 5, 2026 for Pro, Max and Ultra users in the US, that links your bank, card, loan and investment accounts through Plaid with read-only access, so Claude can answer questions about up to two years of your balances and transactions. It cannot move or invest money and does not give investment advice.

Personal Finance in Claude lets you link your bank, credit card, loan and investment accounts to Claude and ask questions about your money in plain language; it is a beta for Pro, Max and Ultra users in the US only, introduced by Anthropic on Nov 5, 2026. Access is read-only through Plaid, Claude sees up to two years of transactions, and in Anthropic's words "Personal Finance can't move, manage, or invest your money." It sits in Claude's sidebar, with your balances and spending on one page (release notes).

What can Claude do with your finances?

Once an account is linked, Claude answers from your real balances and transactions. Anthropic's examples: explain unfamiliar terms on a statement, total your spending by category, compare a month with earlier ones, and flag possible problems such as duplicate charges or unexpected fees. It can also build charts, calendars and dashboards from the data and keep adjusting them as you ask (Anthropic).

It is a reader, not a manager. Claude cannot pay bills, move money between accounts, trade or open products, and Anthropic says the feature "isn't designed to give investment advice". Anthropic also says it offers no credit cards, loans or savings accounts of its own, and shows no ads or sponsored recommendations in Personal Finance; it is exploring how Claude could work with licensed professionals and regulated firms for bigger money decisions.

How do you turn it on?

  1. Open Personal Finance in Claude's sidebar.
  2. Connect an account: you sign in to your bank through Plaid, agree to Plaid's terms there, and approve read-only access.
  3. Ask a question about your money.

Claude never asks for or sees your bank password. Anthropic suggests asking Claude which transactions a number comes from, and checking important figures with your bank, because Claude can make mistakes (Anthropic).

What Claude sees, and privacy

For each linked account Claude sees the bank's name, the account's name, type and last four digits, balances, credit limits and transactions. Conversations inside the Personal Finance hub are not used to train Anthropic's models; finance questions you ask in ordinary chats outside the hub follow your normal privacy settings (Anthropic). Unlinking an account stops Claude from seeing its data. More on Anthropic's general rules is on Claude Privacy and Data Use.

Three things catch people out. Sharing a chat publicly can show figures from your linked accounts, charts included (Sharing Chats). When a paid plan ends, Personal Finance can no longer be opened, but linked banks stay linked until you unlink them (How to Cancel a Claude Subscription). And on Nov 6, 2026 Claude's data export did not yet include a saved Personal Finance dashboard (How to Export or Delete Claude Data).

Compared with ChatGPT's Finances

OpenAI got there first: ChatGPT's own Finances feature, also built on account linking, reached Free and Go users in the US on Oct 2, 2026, while Claude's needs a paid plan. Both are US-only and read-only. The wider comparison is on Claude vs ChatGPT.

We think Anthropic opens Personal Finance to the Free plan or to a second country before it leaves beta, because ChatGPT already offers Finances free in the US and a paid-only beta is a hard sell against that; check by Jun 2027.
