Claude Dashboards and Motion

Claude Dashboards turns company data into a dashboard that stays current, with each number linked to its query; Claude Motion turns a prompt into a short animated explainer you download as an MP4. Both are betas launched on Oct 8, 2026: Dashboards on paid plans, Motion on Team and Enterprise.

Claude Dashboards answers a data question with a dashboard that keeps itself current, and Claude Motion turns a prompt into a short animated explainer you download as an MP4. Anthropic launched both as betas on Oct 8, 2026: Dashboards on paid plans (Pro and up), Motion only on Team and Enterprise (Plans and pricing, read Nov 6, 2026). Both are kinds of Artifacts made in any Claude conversation, like Claude Slides and Docs. Anthropic is plain that Dashboards is not a replacement for a business intelligence tool, and that Motion uses no video generation model: it animates text, charts, shapes and images in code, so there is no generated footage and no generated people.

What Claude Dashboards makes

Ask a question about your company's data, and Claude builds a dashboard that updates as the data changes (Live dashboards and animated explainers, Oct 8, 2026). Every number links to the query behind it, Claude can explain any figure, and each chart shows when its data was last refreshed. Anthropic's examples are comparing this week's sign-ups with last month's and a live view of open Salesforce opportunities (Artifacts, read Nov 6, 2026). A dashboard can be shared with your team and co-edited.

Data sources for Dashboards

Dashboards reads from data platforms (Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks and Snowflake) and from CRM tools such as Salesforce and other Connectors (Live dashboards and animated explainers, Oct 8, 2026). Claude only sees what the connector's account can see, so the dashboard is as good as the access you grant. Anthropic does not publish a refresh interval or query limits.

Exports and when to use a BI tool

Anthropic pitches Dashboards at quick, exploratory questions. For deeper analysis it sends a dashboard on to Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog or Sigma, with Databricks Genie, Looker, monday.com and Tableau listed as coming soon (Live dashboards and animated explainers). A team with governed metrics, row-level security and scheduled reports in a BI tool should keep that tool as the record and use Dashboards for first looks.

What Claude Motion makes

Claude Motion makes a short, video-like explainer from a prompt: Anthropic's examples are a 30-second all-hands explainer from a quarterly report, an animated chart, and a customer onboarding walkthrough built from steps you describe (Artifacts, read Nov 6, 2026). Claude writes it as editable code, so every word, number and timing stays editable in the editor, or you ask Claude to change it. To start one:

  1. Type /motion in the message box of a conversation.
  2. Describe the explainer and attach the source, such as a report.
  3. Edit words, numbers and timing, or ask for revisions.
  4. Download the result as an MP4.

Because Motion animates graphics rather than generating footage, it suits charts, titles and diagrams, not realistic scenes. For generated video, see Image Generation, which covers what Claude does not make.

Exports for Motion

Besides the MP4, Motion hands work to Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI and Runway, with Canva and Captions listed as coming soon (Live dashboards and animated explainers, Oct 8, 2026).

Plans and admin settings

Dashboards is on Pro, Max, Ultra, Team and Enterprise, and Motion only on Team and Enterprise (Plans and pricing, read Nov 6, 2026); neither is on the Free plan. On Enterprise both stay off until an admin turns them on in Organization settings > Artifacts (Artifacts). Their use counts toward the plan's usage limits; Anthropic gives no separate allowance or published per-dashboard cost. Plan prices are on Claude Plans and Pricing, and the business plans on Claude Team and Enterprise.

Frequently asked questions

Is Claude Dashboards free? No. Claude Dashboards is a beta on paid plans (Pro, Max, Ultra, Team and Enterprise) and is not on the Free plan as of Nov 6, 2026.

Can Claude make videos? Claude Motion makes short animated explainers of text, charts, shapes and images and exports them as MP4, but it does not generate realistic footage or people, and it is only on Team and Enterprise.

What data can Claude Dashboards connect to? Claude Dashboards reads from Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, Snowflake, Salesforce and other connectors you add to Claude.

Does a Claude dashboard update by itself? Yes. A Claude dashboard updates as its data changes, and each chart shows when its data was last refreshed.

How do I start Claude Motion? On a Team or Enterprise plan where it is enabled, type /motion in the Claude message box and describe the explainer you want.
