Claude Enterprise costs US$20 a seat a month billed annually with a 20-seat minimum, plus all usage billed at API rates. Both are business plans under Anthropic's Commercial Terms, so Anthropic does not train on their content by default, and both include Claude Code and Cowork in every seat. Anthropic used to call them "Claude for Work" (Claude Enterprise pricing).

Team: seats and usage
A Team plan needs at least two members and allows up to 150; beyond that is Enterprise. Each seat is Standard or Premium, and an organization can mix them. The help center puts a Standard seat at 1.25x and a Premium seat at 6.25x Pro's per-session allowance, each with a weekly limit across all models; limits are per member, not pooled, so one person hitting a limit does not slow anyone else. Every seat includes Claude Code. Fable is part of Premium seats up to half the weekly limit and costs usage credits on Standard seats (Claude Fable models on your plan).
Seat rules are strict. A seat is for "one named individual": no shared logins and no rotating one seat among several active users. Only Owners and Primary Owners buy seats, in Organization settings > Billing. New seats and upgrades to Premium are prorated and charged at once; removing seats or moving down to Standard takes effect at renewal, with no prorated refund. Team is paid by credit card, monthly or annually (Plans & pricing).
What Team adds
Over the individual plans, Team adds central billing and administration, SSO, domain verification, admin controls for remote and local connectors, enterprise deployment of the desktop app, Claude Tag in Slack, enterprise search, project sharing, Claude Motion (beta), spend controls for users and the organization, usage analytics, organization-wide Skills and organization instructions (Plans & pricing). Owners can also buy usage credits for the organization, with a monthly organization limit and per-user limits (Manage usage credits for Team and seat-based Enterprise plans).
The help center and the pricing page disagree on a few Team features. The Team article lists "Domain Capture" and "Role-based permissioning", which the pricing table marks "No" for Team, and it gives a "200k context window" where the pricing table says "Up to 1M, varies by model" (What is the Team plan?; Plans & pricing, both read Nov 6, 2026). Ask Anthropic before relying on any of the three.
Enterprise: seat plus usage
Enterprise is priced differently from every other plan. The $20 seat fee "only covers access to the platform and doesn't include any usage"; everything people do in chat, Claude Code and Cowork is billed at standard API rates, and "there are no per-seat usage limits and no included token allowance". There is one seat type, covering web, desktop, mobile, Claude Code and Cowork. Admins set spend limits for the organization, groups and individuals; billing for usage cannot be turned off (How am I billed for my Enterprise plan?). On self-serve plans the organization prepays a shared credit balance, and when it reaches zero, usage stops for everyone until an Owner buys more. This model arrived with self-serve Enterprise on Feb 12, 2026; older Standard, Premium, "Chat" and "Chat + Claude Code" seat types move to the single seat at renewal.
Enterprise is sold two ways with the same features and seat price. Self-serve needs 20 seats, pays by card or ACH in US dollars and buys usage credits up front. Sales-assisted needs 50 seats per the help center, accepts invoices in several currencies and bills usage monthly in arrears; it also offers AWS Marketplace purchase, trials and committed-spend discounts, which Anthropic says it does not publish (Plans & pricing).
What Enterprise adds
Over Team, Enterprise adds fine-grained role-based access, SCIM, audit logs, the Compliance API, custom data retention, network-level access control and IP allowlisting, a HIPAA-ready offering, and Claude Security (beta) (Plans & pricing). The help center adds the Analytics API, customer-managed encryption keys and US-only inference at 1.1x standard API rates. On Nov 5, 2026 Anthropic added a security center (beta), inference hooks for data-loss tools and centralized management at admin.claude.com (More visibility and control over Claude Enterprise). Chat and Cowork merged into one experience for Enterprise on Oct 23, 2026, with an "Efficient mode" that keeps the experience on Sonnet and Haiku to control cost.
Data and privacy on business plans
Team and Enterprise fall under Anthropic's Commercial Terms: by default Anthropic does not use their inputs or outputs to train models, unless someone sends feedback or the customer opts in (Is my data used for model training? (commercial)). Owners can turn off the thumbs-up and thumbs-down feedback. Deleted chats leave the back end within 30 days, and Enterprise can set custom retention (How long do you store my organization's data?). Members' incognito chats are still included in owner exports and the Compliance API (Use incognito chats). See Claude Privacy and Data Use.
Nonprofit, scientist and government pricing
Verified nonprofits get Team at $8 a user a month, or $3 in low- and middle-income countries, with a two-seat minimum. Research groups at academic and nonprofit institutions can get a Team plan for scientists with Standard seats at $0 and Premium at $15 a month for 12 months. Claude for Government is FedRAMP High, runs in the desktop app only, and is sold as prepaid usage with no seat fee (Claude for government). Universities have Claude for Education.
Compared with ChatGPT Business
OpenAI's ChatGPT Business has the same seat prices as Claude Team: $25 a month or $20 billed annually for Standard, $125 or $100 for Premium, minimum two seats. OpenAI says Premium Business seats have "no five-hour usage limit", while Claude Team's Premium seats keep one. Claude Enterprise's published seat price plus usage is unusual: OpenAI does not publish a ChatGPT Enterprise price (Plans and Pricing). Which costs less for a large company depends on how much each person uses.
